The UK’s largest cancer conference is held in November each year. This year’s event was run virtually and attracted the best scientific and clinical minds to discuss the latest discoveries in cancer research.
Among the five session themes at the event was “Prevention and Early Detection”, which featured the research of several Oxford scientists:
- Dr Sophie Pilleron (Big Data Institute) gave a talk on the impact of timely cancer diagnosis on age disparities in colon cancer survival in New Zealand.
- Dr Anika Knuppel (Nuffield Department of Population Health) presented a poster that described the main findings of her recent publication on the link between insulin-like growth factor-I concentration and the risk of 30 cancers in the UK Biobank.
- Dr Christiana Kartsonaki (Nuffield Department of Population Health) presented a poster on the association between adiposity and the risk of breast cancer in the China Kadoorie Biobank.
