Congratulations to Professor Simon Leedham who has been appointed to the Professorship of Molecular and Population Genetics.

Professor Simon Leedham’s research focuses on the biology of cancer development in the gastrointestinal tract. In particular, the Leedham lab investigates how cell signalling pathways, such as the Wnt, Notch and Bone Morphogenetic Protein pathways, influence gastrointestinal stem cells, which are thought to be the cells of origin for colorectal cancer.

On 1st October 2020, Simon took up the post of Professor of Molecular and Population Genetics at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, Nuffield Department of Medicine. He is also now a Fellow of Queen’s College, Oxford.
