Professor Ahmed Ahmed receives a gift from the Dianne Oxberry Trust to fund more research into the origins of ovarian cancer.

Ovarian cancer is the most lethal gynaecological malignancy and this is in part a result of the late diagnosis of this disease in almost 60% of cases. Professor Ahmed Ahmed (MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine) researches the origins of ovarian cancer so that in future, new biomarkers can be discovered that can indicate the presence of cancer earlier. This gift from the Dianne Oxberry Trust will enable more important work by Prof Ahmed and his team towards the goal of reducing ovarian cancer deaths through earlier diagnosis.
