Professor Fergus Gleeson participates in a panel discussion at this webinar launching the Early Detection and Diagnosis Roadmap.

On 16th December 2020, Cancer Research UK hosted a webinar to launch the Early Detection and Diagnosis Roadmap. The event included presentations by Dr David Crosby (Head of Prevention and Early Detection at CRUK), Dr Susan Galbraith (Senior Vice President for Early Oncology at AstraZeneca), Professor Peter Johnson (National Clinical Director for Cancer, NHS England) and two patient representatives Patrick McGuire and Terry Kavanagh who shared first hand experiences highlighting the importance of early cancer detection.

After these presentations, there was a panel discussion that also included Professor Fergus Gleeson (Department of Oncology and Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust), Professor Caroline Dive (University of Manchester) and Dr Jodie Moffat (Head of Early Diagnosis, Cancer Research UK).

Fergus described the role of imaging in early detection, drawing on his experiences as the Chief Medical Officer for the National Centre for Intelligent Medical Imaging (NCIMI) and Chief Investigator for DART (The Integration and Analysis of Data using Artificial Intelligence to Improve Patient Outcomes with Thoracic Diseases).
